Live Like a Local:
Spearfish Recommendations and Tips
We've lived in Spearfish for over 12 years and know the best places! There are so many reasons to visit Spearfish and the Black Hills. Below is the tip of the iceberg on our favorites, feel free to reach out with specific questions or age/season requirements and we'll tell ya everything we know!
Where to Eat?
Coffee/Breakfast:
Spearfish has an abundance of coffee shops. We personally like Green Bean and Ruby's Roost for both the coffee and the food. The caramel roll at Ruby's Roost is worth the calories!! For a larger breakfast selection, the Original Spearfish Breakfast House is an excellent option.

Lunch/Dinner:
We love the pizza from Sawyer (brewery) and Dough Trader. Both have unique options as well as tried and true favorites. We love the Big Dill Pizza from Sawyer - don't forget the ranch!
Other favorites include Antunez for Mexican food (Esquite and Pork Carnitas are our favorites) and Nonna's for Italian food (the lasagna is the best!).

What to Do?
Winter months are full of adventure with local snowmobiling, hiking/snowshoeing, and nearby skiing. There are trails in the Spearfish Canyon or you can go outside of town to Lead or Deadwood.

Summer months are great for outdoor enthusiasts. We have trailheads for Lookout Mountain close to all of our properties. A drive through Spearfish Canyon is a must - don't forget to stop at the waterfalls like Bridal Veil and Roughlock. We also have a great parks system, including a large City Park with nearby creek and fish hatchery, a great place to explore with kids. Evans Park has a fun Rocketship structure and was recently renovated with new equipment. Cool off at the waterpark at the Spearfish Rec Center all summer long! Keep an eye out for concerts and special events like festivals throughout the summer months - Downtown Friday Nights is a local favorite!
